Thank you for considering the Otaki Mail for advertising. The newspaper is a free monthly community tabloid size paper. Our circulation, (4,600 copies), is delivered between Manakau in the north to Te Horo in the south. We are a very community based publication tending to look more deeply into issues rather than trying to scoop with the news. The balance of news to adverting varies but is around 60/40 each issue. The policy of the Otaki Mail is to keep this balance under constant revue and never let it fall below 50/50. Advertisements, to be effective, should sneak up on the reader! We would rather add pages than upset this balance.

Today newspapers are prepared on computers and column widths have become a variable measurement. For this reason the Otaki Mail has moved to square centimetres for sizing and pricing. Advertisements can be any size, (within the page size), and is priced at a “per square cm” charge. There are three basic rates with an additional charge for colour.

Photographs, graphics, text and advertisements can be any size allowing an artistic approach to layouts. The Otaki Mail is prepared using InDesign and Photoshop. Advertisements can be prepared by the Otaki Mail using text, graphics and photographs supplied or can be outsourced, (see Otaki Mail Specifications), and dispatched via Email as a PS or PDF file.
